Description
Extended & Multi-Database Registry Study
Not every research question fits a fixed package. This is the route for studies where the design, the number of data sources, or the analytic complexity determines the work involved, and where quoting honestly means looking at your specific question first rather than pretending a list price exists.
Priced on request, typically from $3,500. You receive a fixed quote and a written scope before any work begins, and the price does not move afterwards unless you change the scope.
What Counts as Extended
- More than one database – A question that needs NHANES and SEER, or a registry linked to census or environmental data, or a finding established in one source and replicated in another. Cross-database work is not simply two studies: the hard part is reconciling incompatible variable definitions, populations and time windows into something a reviewer will accept.
- Linked claims or administrative data – SEER-Medicare, or a registry linked to administrative records, where treatment sequences and comorbidity become available and the analysis becomes considerably more involved.
- Multivariable and mediation designs – Multivariable Mendelian randomization for correlated exposures, mediation analysis decomposing direct and indirect effects, or a causal design with several intermediate variables.
- Prediction and risk models – Model development with internal validation by bootstrap or cross-validation, external validation in an independent cohort, calibration assessment, decision curve analysis, and TRIPOD-compliant reporting. A prediction model presented without calibration and external validation will not clear a serious journal.
- Advanced trend modelling – Joinpoint regression, age-period-cohort decomposition, or interrupted time series around a policy change.
- A programme rather than a paper – Several related analyses from one dataset, planned together so that the papers do not compete with each other and the multiplicity is handled coherently across the set.
- Rescue of substantial prior work – A large analysis that has been through review and needs restructuring rather than repair.
How Quoting Works
Send the question through the form below. A senior analyst, not a sales function, reads it and replies within one business day with one of three things:
- A fixed quote and scope – If the question is clear enough to price
- Two or three specific questions – If something material is undefined, usually the population, the comparator or the data access position
- A recommendation to start with the feasibility assessment – If the question needs checking before anyone can sensibly price the work. That is $450, and it is credited in full against whatever you commission afterwards
Where a fixed-price product would genuinely serve you better, we will say so and point you at it rather than quote you for more than you need.
What Drives the Price
Number of data sources, whether linkage is required, whether you or we hold data access, the number of distinct analyses, whether external validation is needed, and how much of the writing you want us to do. Two studies on the same database can differ by a factor of three on these dimensions, which is exactly why a list price would be dishonest.
What You Receive
- Complete manuscript or manuscripts – Written to your target journals
- Full figure and table set – Publication-quality vector output
- Complete analysis code – R or Stata, commented, runnable, covering every step including data assembly
- The applicable reporting checklist – STROBE, STROBE-MR, TRIPOD or RECORD, completed
- Analysis log – Every decision documented, which is what makes the work defensible under review
- Revision rounds – Number agreed in the scope
What Is Not Included
We do not ghost-write authorship, you set the questions, review the interpretation, and own the scientific claims. We do not obtain data that requires your institutional agreement, and for some sources, including the ACS trauma participant use file, the agreement must be yours. We do not submit on your behalf and cannot guarantee acceptance anywhere.
Before You Write
The more specific the question, the more useful the reply. Useful: the exposure, the outcome, the population, the comparator, the target journal, and whether you already hold the data. Less useful: a broad topic area. If you are at the topic-area stage, that is a good reason to start with the Feasibility & Protocol Assessment instead.
If your question fits a single database and a standard design, one of these will be faster and cheaper:
- NHANES Study, $1,900
- SEER Cancer Outcomes Study, $2,100
- NTDB / TQP Trauma Registry Study, $2,400
- Mendelian Randomization Study, $2,900
